Prisma is one of our favorite tools for interacting with databases. We use Prisma internally to power Railway and we love the developer experience of defining our own schemas using Typescript to make queries.
Prisma recently released a new Early Access product called Prisma Pulse. It's the latest addition to their ecosystem of applications with a focus on making the Data Developer Experience awesome (Data DX for short). Prisma Pulse provides a managed change data capture (CDC) service that delivers change events from a database to an application instantly.
Two new Prisma Pulse templates are now available on Railway
In other words, Prisma Pulse lets you build real-time applications with real-time, type-safe data sync from Prisma Client.
We couldn’t wait to get our hands on Prisma Pulse, so we teamed up with the folks at Prisma to showcase a pair of templates, including Prisma Pulse DB & App and Prisma Pulse DB Only. These templates make it easy to get up and running with Prisma Pulse on Railway in just a few seconds.
The Prisma Pulse starter is the fastest way to get up and running with Pulse
Petra Donka, Head of Developer Connections at Prisma, said: “It was important to us to have a solution that allowed rapid integration with Prisma Pulse, while still giving the user complete database control and the ability to scale…Unlike other platforms, Railway removes difficulty from the equation.”
We’re excited to work with Prisma to bring these templates to the community.
